- THE PIKE STORY
Pour a Pike Monk’s Uncle and you’ll be greeted by a big, full-bodied nose of fruity and exotic esters. This golden colored Tripel will win you over with its hints of honey and spice that come from organic malts, sugar and local hops. Brewed in the Belgian Abbey style right here in Seattle.
Brewing was introduced to the West through European and British Isle monasteries. At a time when most people were illiterate the brewer monks painted crosses on each cask to identify the different style instead of naming their beers. One cross for session beer that could be drunk daily; two crosses for special, stronger beers; and three for beers reserved for holy days. Over the centuries these crosses turned on their side and became Xs. To this day an ‘X’ is a symbol of alcoholic strength. Pike Monk’s Uncle is XXX.
Pike Monk’s Uncle is available on draft and in 22oz dinner bottles.
