- THE PIKE STORY
Pike Old Bawdy barley wine style ale is brewed every winter. This traditional ale is fruity and rich with more of everything – malt, hops, yeast and hearty flavor. Before your first sip you’ll enjoy its wild herb aromas. Pike Old Bawdy has roasted and toasted flavors balanced by rich malt and just the right measure of hops.
Two thousand years ago when Pliny the Elder, the famous Roman doctor, bon vivant and writer, visited what is now Germany he observed people making barley wine. These high gravity, high alcohol barley wines became a popular substitute for whiskey in Victorian England. Barley wines had almost disappeared by the time Pike Brewing and other craft brewers re-introduced the style. Poetry in a glass; barley wine is the finest product in the brewer’s art.
Pike Old Bawdy is available in the winter on draft and in 12 oz bottles.
